Tomorrow’s Promise Inc. (TPI)

Tomorrow’s Promise, Inc. comes from the heart and soul of its founder and CEO, Vincent (Vince) McCaffrey.  Having done his apprenticeship with the Philadelphia Carpenters Union in the 1960’s, McCaffrey worked for over 20 years in construction management and supervision on such Philadelphia projects as the Downtown Marriott, Airport Marriott, Veterans Administration Building, Hyatt Hotel, Hotel Sofitel, among others.  After years of preparation, in 2009 TPI was officially born and christened with a grant from the U.S. Department of Labor, funded through ABC. 

TPI’s mission is to prepare urban young adults from Philadelphia and beyond to successfully attain, retain and grow careers in the construction field. This will be achieved through designing and implementing a top-notch pre-apprenticeship training program that effectively builds carpentry skills, work readiness soft skills (i.e. time management, organizational, problem-solving and team skills), business development/entrepreneurial skills, and character strengths (i.e. willingness to learn, self-discipline, integrity, gratitude and appreciation of beauty) among the trainees, and provides a network of engaged employers eager and willing to hire program graduates.
