Many people know that Philadelphia Mayor Michael Nutter is trying to get more than 10,000 volunteers for a citywide cleanup. He is partnering with religious institutions, area businesses, schools and various organizations for the Philly Spring Cleanup. What most people don't know, is that his first clean-up was with the Greater Philadelphia Federation of Settlements, at its urban farm at 8th and Poplar about a year ago when he was still running for office. We helped organize about 50 volunteers who cleaned up four city blocks around
was a beautiful event where concerned citizens helped their city. We continue to support Mayor Nutter's clean-up efforts. As the Mayor says, "Let's get Philly clean, let's clean it up and love where you live," Nutter said.
