Jamie McKnight
Director of Teens for Good
Ms. McKnight’s community involvement and volunteering began in 1999 as co-founder of Calendars For A Cause, a non-profit grassroots effort to promote environmental awareness in Pennsylvania's tri-state area. Since then, she has been an advocate for maintaining green space in the city and getting community members involved in reclaiming vacant lots. Ms. McKnight has been a Philadelphia Green Advisory Board member since 2003 during which she has played a critical role in shaping policy around community greening. In 2010, Ms. McKnight was asked to serve as a member of the Philadelphia Green Grower’s Alliance Advisory Board.
In May of 2007, Jamie accepted the position of Program Director for Teens 4 Good at the Federation of Neighborhood Centers after helping to establish Teens 4 Good, a youth-led gardening and nutrition business, in 2004. As Director, Ms. McKnight works together with youth, community centers, and city resources to develop and sustain a youth-led urban farm and nutrition business that is committed to improving access to healthy food for all Philadelphians.
