Welcome!

The Federation of Neighborhood Centers, founded in 1906, is an umbrella organization with ten members agencies who collectively have over 750 years of service in their neighborhoods.  At 25 sites scattered in some of Philadelphia's most underserved communities, the Federation along with its member agencies provide over 25,000 children, youth, families, and seniors, with more than 75,000 points of service.  The Federation plays the vital role of partner development and direction, community organzing, public advocacy, performance measurement and management, and the centers in turn provide countless programs and services varying from day care, emergency services, and parenting. Learn more about our member agencies...

Key Areas of Service:

Strengthening Our Members
We strengthen our members through three key strategies: 1) providing technical assistance to direct service providers; 2) providing professional, financial and program development training to administrators and direct service providers; and 3) leveraging resources through forging partnerships.

Supporting Program Innovation
Federation members are rich in experience and knowledge about developing and running programs for families, children, teens and adults. To harness this experience, the Federation identifies and promotes “best practices” in service delivery and program management among FNC members. The Federation also seeks funding to design and manage innovative programs for families, youth and adults.

Influencing Public Policy
The FNC acts as a communications link between its member agencies and policy makers. By apprising members of emerging programmatic, legislative and budget proposals, and informing public officials of the needs expressed by FNC members in their community work, the Federation facilitates an informational exchange that ensures that the interests of Philadelphia neighborhoods are reflected in the government decisions affecting their future.
